How to Setup & Install React.js

Setup & install react.js

Quick Introduction To React.Js

React is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces. It was developed by Facebook and is often used for building single-page applications and mobile applications.

One of the main benefits of React is its ability to efficiently update and render components, which helps to make applications feel fast and responsive. It does this by using a virtual DOM (a lightweight in-memory representation of the actual DOM) to minimize the number of costly DOM manipulations that need to be made.

Who Uses React.js?

React.js is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces that web developers widely use. Many large and small companies use React.js to build their web applications. Some examples of companies that use React.js include Facebook, Netflix, Airbnb, and Asana. In addition, many individual developers and small teams also use React.js to build their own projects. React.js is popular because it allows developers to create reusable components, which makes it easier to build complex and scalable web applications.

Steps to Setup and Install React:

To set up and install React, you will need to have Node.js and npm (the Node.js package manager) installed on your system.

1) First, make sure you have Node.js and npm installed on your system. If you don’t have them installed, you can download and install Node.js from the official website (https://nodejs.org/)

2) Once Node.js and npm are installed, open a terminal and navigate to the directory where you want to create your React project.

3) To create a new React project, run the following command:

npm install --save react-router-dom

This will create a new directory called “my-app” with a basic React setup.

4) Navigate to the project directory by running:

cd my-app

5) To start the development server, run the following command:

npm start

This will start the development server and open a new browser window with your React app. The development server will automatically reload the app whenever you make changes to the code.

6) To stop the development server, press CTRL + C in the terminal.

That’s it! You have successfully set up and installed React.

Note: The create-react-app the tool is a convenient way to create a new React project, but you can also set up React manually if you prefer. For more information, you can refer to the React documentation (https://reactjs.org/docs/getting-started.html).
